The Yorkton Film Festival has a storied history. Established in 1947 by the Yorkton Film Council, this the oldest running film festival in North America! That’s a pretty impressive for such a small town, but Yorkton celebrates the ingenuity of Canadian filmmakers striving to tell their stories.

The Yorkton Film Festival specializes in showing short films that are under an hour and is dedicated to showcasing the most interesting and provocative short films and documentaries from Canada and around the globe. Taking place from May 23 to May 26, this is four days of fascinating, provocative, and conversation starting cinema! Stick around for the Golden Sheaf Award ceremony gala, where prizes are given to the best of the fest. It’s a great time every year and we hope you’ll join us!

Yorkton really is a charming little town, and we think you’d love a visit. When you do, make sure you stay at the Home Inn & Suites Yorkton. We’ll be happy to make you feel at home, and even share all the local favourite spots! Book your stay today!
