One of the best places to explore when visiting Yorkton is the Western Development Museum. It’s the largest human history museum in Saskatchewan and has four different locations across the province with collections that span almost 80,000 historical artifacts. Adventures in Time Hopping Seek and Find 

Running now until September 6, this treasure hunt is a perfect activity to do with the kids. Follow the clues hidden around the museum’s galleries and explore artifacts from a wide variety of cultures and eras. Adventures in Time Hopping Seek and Find is free with museum admission. 

History of Gender Roles in Rock N Roll 

This exciting workshop takes place on August 25. A collaboration between the museum and Girls Rock Saskatoon, History of Gender Roles in Rock N Roll will explore diversity and gender roles in rock and roll. Participants will also get to listen to a great lineup of music, including local Saskatchewan talent.  

Wheat Weaving Workshop 

On August 28, learn all about the history and art of wheat weaving, including how to soak the stalks and weaving techniques—and then work on your own creations! Participants will also get to take home a design booklet and extra stalks to continue creating on their own.
