Welcome to Yorkton Saskatchewan

  • December 10, 2022

Yorkton is a small town of approximately 16,000 people in the south-east corner of Saskatchewan, surrounded by rich, prairie parkland which is known for its agricultural production, particularly, grain.  If traveling through this part of the province, take some time to stop, rest, eat, and visit downtown Yorkton: it has an interesting array of activities for young and old.

A fun and interesting place to visit for everyone, especially families, is the Western Development Museum which chronicles the stories of immigrants over the past century: there is an attic filled with toys and an authentic log home INSIDE the museum!  From Nov. 28 2022 to Jan. 29 2023, a Seek & Find the 8 Snow people hidden dolls in the museum galleries is happening...just grab your seek & find sheet to the Visitor Services for a prize.  For art lovers, check out the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery in downtown Yorkton which curates and promotes the work of local artists in Saskatchewan and Canada.  Try your luck at the Painted Hand Casino as well as getting some tasty food at their Legends restaurant.

Yorkton does not disappoint for good eateries.  Check out Joe Beeverz Bar & Grill for gourmet poutine and home made burgers, plus excellent chicken wings.

Mano's Restaurant & Lounge is a popular restaurant and if breakfast at any time during the day is your thing, check out Humpty's Family Restaurant!  Beer lovers, head out to the Back Forty Brewery for a pint.

Home Inn & Suites Yorkton is conveniently located in town and makes a great place to rest for the evening/s.  The hotel has a great indoor swimming pool with a slide....if traveling with kids, they will love the pool.  The hotel is practicing enhanced cleanliness measures for the public's safety and well-being.  Enjoy your stay.
